Goryeong County Wins Outstanding Local Economic Revitalization Award in Gyeongsangbuk-do for Three Consecutive Years

Recognized for Achievements in Revitalizing the Local Economy and Supporting Small Businesses

Goryeong County (Governor Lee Namcheol) received the Encouragement Award at the "2025 Gyeongsangbuk-do Local Economic Revitalization Outstanding Cities and Counties Awards Ceremony" held at Sono Belle Cheongsong on December 17.

This evaluation is an event where Gyeongsangbuk-do comprehensively assesses the policy achievements of 22 cities and counties in the province in the areas of price stabilization management and local economic revitalization, selecting outstanding local governments. It is held annually to encourage efforts to restore the local economy through support for small businesses and traditional markets.

The main evaluation criteria include a total of 11 items: ▲efforts to stabilize local prices ▲best practices in revitalizing small businesses and traditional markets ▲the commitment of institutional heads to economic revitalization ▲expansion and designation performance of Good Price Stores, among others.

Goryeong County received high marks for actively implementing a variety of economic revitalization policies, including establishing a local economic revitalization plan for the recovery of the people's livelihood economy, ▲promoting the designation of autonomous commercial districts ▲enacting ordinances to foster alley-type shopping streets ▲improving parking environments at traditional markets ▲joint contributions from financial institutions for special guarantees for small businesses ▲and holding a regional gift certificate cashback event linked to the Korea Grand Festival.

With this award, Goryeong County has been selected as an outstanding city or county for local economic revitalization for three consecutive years since 2023, achieving external recognition for its ongoing support for local businesses and efforts to stabilize the people's livelihood economy.

A Goryeong County official stated, "As a result of our efforts to implement various policies for local economic revitalization and to establish an institutional foundation for the advancement of local businesses, we have achieved the honor of receiving this award for three consecutive years," adding, "Despite challenging internal and external conditions, we will continue to pursue policies that firmly support small business owners and traditional market merchants."
