Katis announced on the 17th that it has signed a security perimeter system supply contract worth 5.4 billion won with Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power.

Katis Signs 5.4 Billion Won 'Perimeter Security System' Supply Contract with Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power

Under this contract, Katis plans to supply fence surveillance and intrusion detection equipment to the next-generation nuclear power plants Shin Hanul Units 3 and 4. As of the third quarter, the company’s cumulative order backlog stands at 31.6 billion won, and with the inclusion of this supply contract with Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power, the backlog will increase to 37 billion won. This exceeds last year’s total sales of approximately 31.7 billion won.

Katis has established supply references for key national facilities and high-security sites such as nuclear power plants and small modular reactors (SMRs). As demand for perimeter security systems is expected to continue, the company plans to focus on expanding public security orders.

The perimeter security system to be supplied this time integrates fence surveillance and intrusion detection equipment. It will be installed around the perimeters of critical national infrastructure such as nuclear power plants, enabling real-time detection and analysis of intrusion attempts.

Shin Hanul Units 3 and 4 are 1,400-megawatt (MW) nuclear power plants currently under construction in Uljin County, North Gyeongsang Province. These are large-scale national infrastructure facilities that require a high level of safety and security. Due to the nature of the industry, establishing a constant monitoring system for external intrusions and abnormal situations is essential.

A company representative stated, “Demand for perimeter security at key national infrastructure such as nuclear power plants and SMRs continues to rise. This year, we commercialized the next-generation integrated security system ‘Exiquent 1.5,’ which combines existing access control security with external perimeter defense. We will continue proactive sales activities targeting not only national infrastructure but also various industrial sectors.”
