China's parcel delivery volume has been steadily increasing this year. On December 16, China Media Group (CMG) reported, citing data from the State Post Bureau of China, that the country's parcel delivery volume from January to November this year rose by more than 14% compared to the same period last year.
According to the State Post Bureau, the nationwide parcel delivery volume during this period reached 180.74 billion, marking a 14.9% increase year-on-year.
The State Post Bureau explained that ongoing consumer goods replacement policies and the expansion of their coverage have led to increased replacement demand, resulting in a rise in parcel volume. From January to November this year, the volume of large parcels such as furniture and home appliances increased by approximately 30% compared to the previous year.
By region, the expansion of logistics infrastructure in central and western areas has led to a higher share of parcel processing in these regions. During the same period, parcel delivery volume growth rates in regions such as Guizhou, Shanxi, and Ningxia all exceeded 30%.
Meanwhile, the State Post Bureau noted that information technology, including smart warehouses and automated sorting equipment, is being utilized at logistics sites, and various delivery methods such as unmanned delivery vehicles and drones are being introduced.
