Xi Occupancy Reaches 29,000 Units This Year, Largest Among Top 10 Builders [Real Estate AtoZ]

This year, one out of every ten newly occupied apartment units nationwide was branded as Xi, the residential brand of GS E&C.


According to GS E&C on December 17, the total number of Xi units occupied this year reached 28,669. Based on statistics from Real Estate R114, the total number of newly occupied units nationwide was approximately 278,000, meaning Xi accounted for about 10% of the total. This is the largest share among the top 10 construction companies.


Market analysts attribute this performance to the longstanding brand trust and high-quality residential experience that Xi has accumulated, which have become key selection criteria for consumers. In fact, Xi ranked first overall in the "2025 Best Apartment Brand" survey published by Real Estate R114.


This brand trust is also reflected in the actual market value. According to the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport’s real transaction price disclosure system, "Maple Xi" in Jamwon-dong, Seocho-gu, Seoul, which began occupancy in June 2025, recorded the highest price in Jamwon-dong (excluding complexes awaiting reconstruction or redevelopment), with a 135-square-meter unit right trading at 7.1 billion won in July. The 84-square-meter unit right also set a new record for that size, trading at 5.65 billion won.


Xi's presence is also prominent in the Seoul metropolitan area. In Cheolsan-dong, Gwangmyeong, the "Cheolsan Xi The Heritage" 114-square-meter unit right, which became available for occupancy this year, was traded at 1.9 billion won in September, marking the highest price in Cheolsan-dong.


This premium is underpinned by the consistent product excellence that Xi has built over time. In the areas of design and technology, Xi has focused on the "essence of residential living." Its design competitiveness has been recognized globally. In 2025, GS E&C won the main prize in the Interior Design category at the IDEA Design Award 2025 for its brand gallery "House Xi," and the main prize in the Digital Interaction category for its future residential technology experience space "Xi Lab." By also winning at the German iF Design Award and the Red Dot Design Award, GS E&C swept all three of the world’s top design awards this year, further proving the international excellence of the Xi brand.


Moreover, the after-sales management strategy that continues even after move-in is a key factor in establishing Xi as a "brand with enduring trust." Through the "Dear. Xian" campaign, Xi proactively inspects and, when necessary, repairs common areas such as landscaping, community facilities, and parking lots in complexes during their first and second years of occupancy, operating a service called "See First, Refresh."


This quality-focused approach has resulted in zero defect rulings by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport's Defect Review and Dispute Mediation Committee over the past year.


A GS E&C representative stated, "Rather than focusing on short-term performance, Xi has prioritized a customer-centered residential philosophy and quality principles based on trust. Going forward, we will continue to raise standards across design, technology, and brand experience to reward our customers' choices."
