The prosecution has rejected the arrest warrants requested by the police for Pastor Jun Kwanghoon of Sarang Jeil Church, who is suspected of being behind the 'Seobu District Court disturbance,' and Shin Hyesik, head of the conservative YouTube channel 'Shinui Hansu.'
On December 17, the Security Investigation Division of the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency announced that the prosecution had requested supplementary investigation regarding the arrest warrants applied for Pastor Jun and Mr. Shin, who are facing charges including aggravated trespassing and instigating obstruction of official duties.
The police believe that Pastor Jun and Mr. Shin systematically managed conservative YouTubers through psychological control (gaslighting) in the name of faith and financial support, inducing those involved in the court disturbance to participate in illegal acts.
The police have booked nine individuals, including Pastor Jun and Mr. Shin, and are currently investigating to uncover who was behind the incident at the Seobu District Court that occurred in January.
The police plan to reapply for arrest warrants after conducting supplementary investigations as soon as the relevant records are returned.
