Through this agreement, the two institutions will establish an inter-regional medical cooperation network linking Seoul and Gyeonggi Province. This will enable prompt and systematic patient referrals and returns according to each patient’s condition. They also plan to provide integrated and specialized medical and care services to terminally ill patients and those in need of hospice palliative care, thereby reducing gaps in medical services and improving accessibility.
Lee Inyoung, Director of Gyeonggi Provincial Medical Center Uijeongbu Hospital, stated, "As a public hospital, Uijeongbu Hospital will further strengthen the connection of medical services by building a medical cooperation network with Seoul Metropolitan Government Northern Hospital. By reinforcing the network, including palliative care and patient return systems, we aim to create a medical environment where even those with mobility difficulties or those in underserved areas can receive treatment with peace of mind."
