1Q US Aerospace Tech ETF Surpasses 20 Billion Won in Net Assets

16% Return in Just Three Weeks After Listing
Immediate Inclusion Planned Upon SpaceX IPO

Hana Asset Management announced that the '1Q US Aerospace Tech ETF,' the first US aerospace tech ETF listed in Korea on November 25, surpassed 20 billion won in net assets just 15 trading days after its listing, driven by net purchases from individual and pension investors.

The 1Q US Aerospace Tech ETF is the first ETF in Korea to focus on leading US space and aerospace technology companies. Rocket Lab and Joby Aviation each have the highest allocation at approximately 16%. The remaining 68% is invested in key related companies such as Palantir, GE Aerospace, AST SpaceMobile, and Archer Aviation.

According to the Korea Exchange, the 1Q US Aerospace Tech ETF achieved a 16% return in about three weeks after its listing. Rocket Lab, which has the largest allocation in the ETF, rose 37% amid expectations following news that SpaceX plans to pursue an initial public offering (IPO) worth about 1.5 trillion dollars (about 2,200 trillion won) next year. Other space-related stocks also saw significant increases, with AST SpaceMobile up 29%, Firefly Aerospace up 21%, and Intuitive Machines up 20%.

On December 15, Rocket Lab successfully launched the RAISE-4 small technology demonstration satellite for the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA). Later this month, the launch of NEONSAT-1A, a disaster monitoring satellite for the Korea Aerospace Administration, is scheduled.

Since its listing, the 1Q US Aerospace Tech ETF has recorded 16 consecutive trading days of net buying by individual investors, with cumulative net purchases reaching about 24 billion won.

On December 17, Hana Asset Management will hold a live seminar on its official YouTube channel with Hangsung (Dr. Kang Sungjoo), a science YouTuber with 1.35 million subscribers on the science channel 'Not Science,' under the theme 'The Future Drawn by SpaceX.' Hangsung holds a Ph.D. in astrophysics from Iowa State University in the United States, has served as a senior researcher at the Korea Astronomy and Space Science Institute and as an astronomer at the National Gwacheon Science Museum, and has appeared on various science programs such as EBS's 'Science as a Hobby' and tvN's 'Problematic Men.' He is a leading science YouTuber specializing in space and aerospace.

CEO Kim Taewoo stated, "With SpaceX's anticipated listing next year, the aerospace industry is expected to receive significant attention and experience substantial growth," adding, "We hope this investment seminar will provide valuable insights into the aerospace industry and investment strategies."
