Eastar Jet Introduces 20th New Aircraft... "Half of Fleet Now New Models"

To commemorate the introduction of its 20th aircraft, Eastar Jet held a ceremony on December 16 at Gimpo International Airport, where CEO Cho Joongseok and employees presented a bouquet to the flight crew.

The newly introduced 20th aircraft is a B737-8 model with a seating capacity of 189. Unlike pre-owned aircraft, this new plane was completed earlier this month and is being operated by Eastar Jet for the first time. With this addition, Eastar Jet now operates 10 out of its 20 aircraft as new B737-8 models, lowering the average fleet age to seven years.

The B737-8 offers approximately 20% improved fuel efficiency compared to previous models, reducing carbon emissions. In addition, engine noise inside the cabin is more than 50% lower, providing passengers with a more comfortable and pleasant flight experience.

After completing safety inspections, the 20th aircraft will be primarily deployed on routes such as Gimpo-Jeju, where demand peaks during the Christmas season.

An Eastar Jet representative stated, "Despite the global challenges in aircraft supply, we successfully introduced five new aircraft this year, completing a fleet of 20. Next year, we will continue to modernize our fleet by introducing new models, further reduce costs, and strengthen operational stability."
