Operations Begin January 9 Next Year
Additional Stop for Express Route 2 Near Bongsan-dong Terminal Adjusted
Daejeon City will introduce a new Route 55 to improve access to the "Daejeon Healing Forest" located in Musu-dong, Jung-gu. In addition, to address traffic safety issues around the Bongsan-dong terminal area, an additional stop will be added to the Express Route 2 line.
This new route will be implemented starting January 9 next year, with the goals of ▲ improving accessibility for Healing Forest visitors, ▲ providing public transportation services linked to program schedules, and ▲ revitalizing tourist resorts by expanding eco-friendly transportation options.
Additionally, to resolve the issue of jaywalking near the Bongsan-dong terminal area and to ensure safe bus use for citizens, the city has adjusted the Express Route 2 line to include an additional stop at the Hyeopjin Transportation bus stop. This measure aims to enhance pedestrian safety and create a safer city bus environment.
Daejeon City also plans to review additional routes in preparation for the opening of the Pureunae Natural Recreation Forest, which is scheduled for completion in December 2026.
Nam Sideok, Director of the Daejeon City Transportation Bureau, stated, "By operating eco-friendly transportation focused on tourism and recreation, we aim to enhance the region's brand value and create a public transportation environment that is more convenient for citizens. We will continue to introduce and adjust city bus routes going forward."
Information about the new routes, including exact routes and timetables, can be found on the Daejeon City Transportation Information Center and Daejeon City Bus Transportation Association websites.
