Paju City Launches Full-Scale City Hall Expansion to Meet Future Administrative Demand Paju City held a kickoff meeting on the 16th for the "Feasibility Study and Basic Plan Establishment Service for the Expansion of Paju City Hall." Provided by Paju City

The kickoff meeting was attended by Paju Mayor Kim Kyeongil and key department heads, where they held in-depth discussions on the necessity of expanding the city hall and the future direction of the project.

In a press conference in September, Paju City announced a plan to expand the current city hall on its existing site, instead of relocating it.

At that time, Mayor Kim Kyeongil emphasized, "Prioritizing efficiency and practicality, the best approach is to maximize the use of the existing city hall and expand it only as much as necessary." He added, "This will maintain administrative continuity, minimize inconvenience to citizens, and reduce the financial burden of construction and relocation costs."

Based on this decision, Paju City has begun developing a detailed plan for the expansion. The purpose of this project is to systematically establish a space plan that can provide citizen-centered administrative services in response to continuous population growth and increasing administrative demand.

In particular, the focus is on establishing a strategic foundation to proactively respond to growing administrative needs and to enhance convenience and accessibility from the users’ perspective by restructuring administrative functions in an organic and efficient manner.

Over the next 12 months, the agency in charge will conduct a comprehensive analysis of the current status and space utilization of the city hall. This will include mid- to long-term population and administrative demand forecasts, estimation of space requirements due to the restructuring of administrative functions, assessment of the suitability of the expansion site, and the establishment of phased business strategies.

Through this process, the city plans to establish a basic plan that comprehensively considers citizen convenience and accessibility, administrative efficiency, and fiscal soundness, thereby developing a feasible and sustainable city hall expansion plan.

Mayor Kim Kyeongil stated, "Paju City is rapidly growing with the goal of becoming a self-sufficient city of one million residents, and expanding administrative infrastructure to match this growth is an urgent task." He added, "I hope that this project will result in a future-oriented city hall expansion plan that satisfies both citizens and public officials."

Based on the results of this project, Paju City plans to proceed with the city hall expansion in phases through consultations with relevant agencies and administrative procedures, while also actively gathering citizen feedback and building consensus.
