The "Gangwon Online Marketer Training Project" is a program aimed at unemployed individuals and small business owners within the province. It offers basic training to marketers on operating and managing Naver Smart Store, product registration and sales, as well as advertising and marketing. Afterward, marketers are paired one-on-one with small business owners for on-site practice, enabling them to develop practical skills as online marketers. At the same time, the project aims to help local small business owners, who may struggle with changes in the digital environment, to establish an online sales foundation.
This year, a total of 79 marketers (40 in the 9th cohort and 39 in the 10th cohort) participated, collaborating with 71 small business companies in the province to achieve increased sales. Among the participating marketers, 13 successfully found employment or started their own businesses, demonstrating tangible results.
The newly published best practices collection includes participants’ hands-on work experiences, cases of increased sales, improvements in branding, and digital transformation strategies, all presented through detailed stories and images.
In particular, the collection highlights practical outcomes such as content creation using blogs and social media channels, reestablishment of brand identity and customer response analysis, and the launch of new Smart Stores. It is expected to serve as a practical reference for strengthening the digital competitiveness of small business owners in Gangwon Special Self-Governing Province and to objectively share the effectiveness of the program’s operations.
Kim Manho, Director of Economic Affairs for Gangwon Special Self-Governing Province, stated, "This best practices collection is a compilation of the achievements created together by online marketers and small business owners," adding, "We will continue to nurture practical talent who can drive the digital transformation of the local economy and expand support that genuinely helps the growth of small business owners."
Gangwon Special Self-Governing Province plans to further enhance the program next year, allowing a wider range of talent-including local youth and women returning to the workforce-to gain hands-on experience in online marketing. The province also intends to continuously expand collaborative models to boost digital sales for small business owners.
