Supporting Shantytown Residents through Participation in the "Warmth Warehouse Vitamin Project"
Delivering a Total of 4,750 Servings of Seasonal Fruits and Vegetables and Supplies in 2025
HiteJinro announced on the 17th that it had successfully carried out its 2025 support activities for residents of the five major shantytowns in Seoul.
HiteJinro supported seasonal fruits, vegetables, and summer heat preparedness supplies in the five major jjokbangchon (small room villages) of Seoul throughout 2025 through the "Warmth Warehouse Vitamin Project."
On December 16, HiteJinro conducted its regular monthly donation by delivering seasonal winter foods such as strawberries and mixed grains to the Changsin-dong shantytown, coinciding with the opening ceremony of the Warmth Warehouse. Starting with a pilot donation to the Seoul Station shantytown in March, the company has continued to support the healthy daily lives of residents in the five major shantytowns in Seoul, including sponsorship at the opening ceremony of the Yeongdeungpo shantytown Warmth Warehouse in June and monthly regular donations since July.
Throughout 2025, HiteJinro supported a total of 4,750 servings of seasonal fruits and vegetables, as well as heatwave preparedness supplies worth approximately 8 million won, for the five major shantytowns in Seoul through the "Warmth Warehouse Vitamin Project."
Since signing a joint cooperation agreement with the Seoul Metropolitan Government in 2013 for "Protection and Response Activities for the Housing Vulnerable Against Cold Waves and Heatwaves," HiteJinro has provided various forms of support to shantytown residents for the past 12 years. This year, the company enhanced its support efforts by focusing on the "Warmth Warehouse Vitamin Project," which delivers fresh seasonal foods through the Warmth Warehouse, a food market specialized for shantytown communities.
The "Warmth Warehouse Vitamin Project" was designed to help shantytown residents achieve balanced nutrition. In collaboration with "Mr. Appa," a fresh food startup in which HiteJinro has directly invested, the company supplies seasonal foods via early morning same-day delivery, maximizing freshness and establishing a mutually beneficial support model.
Kim Inkyu, CEO of HiteJinro, stated, "The Warmth Warehouse support activities we have continued throughout 2025 were aimed at protecting the health of shantytown residents up close in their daily lives. As a practitioner of ESG management that grows together with the local community, we will continue to deliver small but steady warmth to the lives of our neighbors in need."
