AI-powered In-Vehicle Solutions Unveiled at CES
Displays Images on Windows and Supports Sign Language Communication
LG Electronics is introducing next-generation vehicle solutions that combine the latest automotive electronics technologies with artificial intelligence (AI). The company has focused on transforming the space from the driver's seat to the passenger seat into a "personalized experience" for all occupants.
On December 17, LG Electronics announced that it will showcase its "AI-powered In-Vehicle Solutions" at CES 2026, which will be held in Las Vegas, USA, starting from January 6 (local time). Among the products exhibited at this year's CES, this solution received the "CES Best of Innovation Award," which is given to the most innovative products and services.

LG Electronics will operate an experience zone where visitors can try out the solutions firsthand. The experience zone consists of three main areas: the "Display Solution," which uses a transparent organic light-emitting diode (OLED) display on the windshield to extend the interface across the entire driver's area; the "Vision Solution," which applies vision AI to the driver and passenger seats to provide a variety of safety and convenience information based on the direction of the occupant's gaze; and the "Entertainment Solution," which uses AI curation to deliver contextually appropriate services-such as content, video calls, and translation-to the rear seats.
In the display solution experience zone, visitors can see how AI intuitively presents necessary information through a windshield equipped with transparent OLED. For example, when a traffic light appears, the system displays the waiting time around the signal, selectively providing the most relevant information at that moment. In autonomous driving mode, the AI analyzes the surrounding environment and plays images that match the situation. When passing a road lined with cherry blossoms, it projects falling petals; when going through a monotonous tunnel, it overlays a dreamy forest image, providing an immersive, virtual reality-level experience.
In the vision solution experience zone, visitors can experience the driver and passenger seats equipped with in-cabin sensing technology powered by AI. If the AI detects that the driver’s gaze has wandered for a certain period, the system automatically switches to autonomous driving mode. By analyzing what objects the occupants are looking at through interior and exterior cameras, the AI can provide information about the products advertised on the billboard where the passenger’s gaze stops and even facilitate a purchase.
The entertainment solution experience zone features a rear-seat entertainment system enhanced with AI. The AI recognizes the scenery outside the window and displays photos with memories from that location on the window display. On the way to pick up food, it recommends content that the passengers may enjoy, and if an employee uses sign language during the pickup process, the system displays subtitles on the screen to enable two-way communication.

At CES 2026, LG Electronics will also unveil its "AI Cabin Platform," an on-device AI solution for vehicles, targeting automotive OEM customers. The AI Cabin Platform incorporates various open-source generative AI models-including a Vision Language Model (VLM) for visual information analysis, a Large Language Model (LLM), and an image generation model-into LG Electronics' in-vehicle infotainment system, transforming the in-car experience for passengers.
Seokhyun Eun, Executive Vice President and Head of the VS Business Division at LG Electronics, stated, "We have materialized our vision for future mobility by adding a variety of AI features to mass-produced solutions, such as in-cabin sensing, which are already being discussed with global automotive OEM customers. We will turn these innovations into reality within a few years and lead the era of AI-centric vehicles."
