KORAIL to Increase Year-End and New Year Train Services: "Additional Seats to Be Provided"

Korea Railroad Corporation (KORAIL) will increase the number of trains during the year-end and New Year holidays to provide additional seats.


On December 17, KORAIL announced that it would add 34 train services and supply an additional 20,000 seats over four days during the year-end period, including Christmas and New Year's Day, to enhance convenience for rail passengers.

The additional train services will be operated on four major lines nationwide-Gyeongbu, Honam, Jeolla, and Gangneung-on December 24, 25, and 31, as well as January 1 of next year. This measure is in preparation for increased demand during this period, such as for sunrise trips.


On December 24 and 25, 18 additional KTX services will run on the Gyeongbu, Honam, Jeolla, and Gangneung lines, and 4 additional ITX-Saemaeul trains will operate on the Gyeongbu Line. On December 31 and January 1, 8 additional KTX services will run on the Gyeongbu, Honam, Jeolla, and Gangneung lines, and 4 additional ITX-Saemaeul trains will operate on the Gyeongbu Line.


During this period, train tickets can be purchased starting at 1:00 p.m. on December 18 through the mobile app 'KORAIL Talk,' the KORAIL website, and ticket counters at railway stations nationwide.
