Geumsan County has implemented a cadastral survey fee reduction system to ease the financial burden on residents, increase farmers' income, and support socially disadvantaged groups.

The fee reduction is largely divided into three categories: package surveys, government-subsidized agricultural infrastructure projects, and national merit recipients and persons with disabilities. If the requirements are met, a 30% discount is applied to the fee or the basic rate.

Package surveys cover measurements such as boundary restoration, land division, and cadastral status. If the owner requests two or more types of surveys at the same time for the same parcel or adjacent parcels under the same ownership, and the surveys are completed in a single session, the basic rate for additional survey types is reduced.

Discounts are also provided for government-subsidized agricultural infrastructure projects aimed at strengthening agricultural competitiveness.

For surveys related to the installation of grain dryers or cold storage facilities through government-subsidized projects, the finalized fee can be discounted. However, this applies only to individual applicants, who must submit documentation proving their eligibility for government subsidies at the time of application.

Benefits are also offered to those who have served the nation and to persons with disabilities. If national merit recipients, their immediate family members, independence merit recipients and their immediate family members, or persons with severe disabilities (as defined by the Welfare of Disabled Persons Act) request a survey for land they own, the basic rate is discounted.

For merit recipients, the discount is broadly applied to spouses and children, but for veterans, only the individual is eligible.

In addition, if a new survey is requested within 12 months after a boundary restoration, registration conversion, or cadastral status survey, the basic rate for each survey type is reduced by 50% to 90%.

Lee Yoon-gu, head of the Civil Affairs and Cadastral Division, stated, "We hope that the cadastral survey fee reduction system will provide practical help in reducing the survey cost burden for our residents."
