Recognized for Ongoing Contributions to Content Development
Shinhan University announced on the 16th that it received the "KOCW Honorary Donation Award Platinum" at the "2025 University Open Courseware (KOCW) Symposium" organized by the Korea Education and Research Information Service (KERIS).

The symposium, held under the theme "Happy Digital Education for All! Toward Innovation and Growth in Sustainable Education!" took place on the second floor convention hall of Hotel Inter-Burgo Daegu on the 16th. During the opening ceremony, universities and institutions that returned their knowledge and educational resources to society through KOCW open courses and continuously contributed outstanding content were recognized and awarded.
The KOCW Honorary Donation Award Platinum, received by Shinhan University, is given based on a comprehensive evaluation of open course operations and contributions over the past three years. The award is particularly meaningful as it officially acknowledges the university's efforts to realize the public value of higher education and maintain stable content quality.
Jeon Seungbin, Head of the Center for Distance Education at Shinhan University, attended the ceremony as the university's representative and accepted the award.
In his acceptance speech, Jeon stated, "I believe this KOCW Honorary Donation Award recognizes both the public value of higher education that Shinhan University has pursued and our ongoing efforts to maintain content quality. In particular, this achievement was made possible by the active participation of our professors and the collaboration of all members of the Center for Distance Education throughout the planning and operation of the courses."
Meanwhile, Shin Hyuncheol, Director of the Center for Distance Education at Shinhan University, added, "Going forward, Shinhan University will continue to share its knowledge and educational resources with society through KOCW and strive to contribute to the creation of a lifelong learning environment accessible to all."
Shinhan University plans to continue practicing the public value and social responsibility of digital-based higher education by further enhancing the quality of its open course content and strengthening its faculty support system.
