A Chinese billionaire investor has drawn attention by posting an advertisement on social media seeking a marriage partner. He described himself as "somewhat overweight but definitely not unattractive," and claimed to have a net worth exceeding 2 trillion won.
According to the South China Morning Post (SCMP) on December 14 (local time), the Chinese man in his 30s posted a public marriage proposal on his social media account.
He introduced himself as a professional investor born in the 1990s, ranking among the top ten individual major shareholders in more than ten listed companies. In an interview with a media outlet, he identified himself as Liu Xin, a well-known industry investor with a net worth of over 10 billion yuan (approximately 2.087 trillion won).
He stated that he aspires to surpass American investor Warren Buffett. In his marriage advertisement, he quoted Buffett, saying, "The most important and life-changing choice in life is choosing a spouse."
Liu Xin explained that after experiencing family issues in 2018, he devoted himself solely to work and has had almost no romantic relationships, describing himself as "a person blinded by love." This is a Chinese proverb referring to someone obsessed with love, and he said this trait stems from his investment experience, where he has always prioritized his clients' interests when investing.
He revealed that he earned a bachelor's degree from a prestigious university in Germany and owns real estate in his hometown of Yantai, Shandong Province, and in Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province. He also claimed to own several Rolls-Royce cars. In photos circulating online, Liu can be seen wearing a luxury shirt and standing in front of a Rolls-Royce.
However, some internet users have warned of a potential scam. One user claimed that Liu has a notorious reputation in the investment industry for luring investors into underperforming markets, and argued that his marriage advertisement could also be a scheme to expand his influence.
