To Launch as 'Mir M: Mogwang Ssangyong'
Early Access Server Opened on December 4
Wemade announced on December 16 that it will officially launch its massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG) 'Mir M' in China in January next year.
'Mir M' is a successor to Wemade's flagship game 'Legend of Mir 2,' reimagined with a modern interpretation to restore and continue the Mir intellectual property (IP). In China, it will be released under the name 'Mir M: Mogwang Ssangyong.'
Previously, 'Legend of Mir 2' established strong brand recognition in the Chinese market. In 2004, it captured a 65% share of the Chinese PC online game market, and in 2005, it was listed in the Guinness Book of Records for reaching 800,000 concurrent users.
Wemade stated that it conducted multiple rounds of pre-launch testing for 'Mir M' in China and localized the overall content and systems. This was the result of actively incorporating user feedback and the latest trends in the Chinese gaming market.
A Wemade representative explained, "While retaining the main features of the original title, we have revamped core elements such as the combat system, equipment progression structure, and user interface and experience (UI/UX) to suit Chinese users. We have also incorporated unique symbolic elements of the Mir IP into weapons, costumes, and accessories, and added China-exclusive cinematic videos to create an immersive environment for both existing fans and new players."
Meanwhile, on December 4, Wemade opened an early access server for 'Mir M.' Players will be able to continue their gameplay without data resets even after the official launch. Through this server, Wemade plans to further stabilize the service and enhance the overall quality of the game.
