A man in his 60s has been apprehended by the police for firing steel balls with a slingshot, causing consecutive damage to the windows of a church and an apartment building.

The Gwangju Bukbu Police Station announced on December 16 that they have booked a man in his 60s, identified as A, without detention on charges of special property damage.

A is accused of firing three steel balls with a slingshot at around 9 p.m. on November 23 on a road in Samgak-dong, Buk-gu, Gwangju, damaging the front door of a church and the windows of a nearby apartment building.

After receiving a report from the victims, the police analyzed nearby closed-circuit television (CCTV) footage and identified A as the suspect. During police questioning, A reportedly stated that he had purchased the slingshot online and fired it for fun.

The police are currently investigating the exact circumstances of the incident.
