According to the city on the 16th, the home-visit health care service was launched to help vulnerable health groups manage their health during winter and to prevent safety accidents. The service is provided to people aged 65 and older, elderly people living alone, and basic livelihood security recipients.
Visiting nurses go directly to households to check basic health conditions such as blood pressure and blood sugar, and also inspect living conditions including heating. In addition, they provide education on health guidelines to prevent cold-related illnesses such as hypothermia, and offer instructions on how to respond if abnormal symptoms occur, focusing on reducing winter health risks in advance.
The public health center monitors health not only through home visits, but also by providing phone consultations, utilizing information and communication technology (ICT) for monitoring, and checking on individuals through neighbors and family members. Guidance is also provided on how to properly use emergency safety services in urgent situations.
The city especially urged extra caution for elderly people with chronic diseases. It emphasized the importance of checking weather conditions before going out, maintaining body temperature with warm water and a balanced diet, and continuing regular medical checkups and medication management.
A city official stated, "During winter, even small temperature changes can increase the risk of chronic diseases, so careful management is necessary," adding, "We will continue to strengthen health care services to protect the health and safety of our citizens."
