Starting at midnight on December 18, the toll fees for Incheon Bridge, which connects Yeongjongdo in Incheon and Songdo International City, will be significantly reduced.
For standard passenger cars, the fee will drop from 5,500 won to 2,000 won, a reduction of approximately 63%. For compact cars, the toll will decrease from 2,750 won to 1,000 won. For medium vehicles (buses with 17 or more seats, and trucks weighing 2.5 to 10 tons), the fee will be reduced from 9,400 won to 3,500 won. For large vehicles (trucks over 10 tons, etc.), the toll will decrease from 12,200 won to 4,500 won.
On December 16, the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport announced that it had signed a revised implementation agreement with Incheon Bridge Co., Ltd., the project operator, to apply these adjusted toll fees.
Commuters who travel daily between Yeongjongdo and the mainland are expected to save about 1.72 million won annually. This calculation is based on 245 working days per year, saving 7,000 won for a round trip each day.
This measure follows the toll reduction on Yeongjong Bridge (Incheon International Airport Expressway) that took place in October 2023. With this change, both expressways providing access to Incheon International Airport now offer reduced toll rates.
Since the toll reduction on Yeongjong Bridge, approximately 130,000 vehicles have used the bridge daily, resulting in household toll savings of about 320 billion won over the past two years.
Kim Hongrak, Director of Airport Policy at the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, stated, "We hope that the reduction in Incheon Bridge toll fees will ease the financial burden for all citizens using Incheon International Airport and for local residents who use the bridge daily." He added, "In addition to lowering tolls, we will make every effort to maintain the highest standards of safety and cleanliness on both Incheon Bridge and Yeongjong Bridge."
