Last weekend night, a vehicle illegally parked in the middle of an intersection sparked public outrage among citizens. Three cars were lined up at the entrance to the left-turn lane, effectively blocking the lane and creating a baffling situation. Mr. A, who identified himself as a city bus driver in Daegu, shared his experience: "On the night of December 13, while driving my route, I witnessed a scene that was simply beyond comprehension." According to Mr. A, the problematic location was near a three-way intersection adjacent to a hotel. This area is frequently plagued by illegal parking, especially on weekends, due to a lack of parking spaces caused by weddings, performances, and various events.
Mr. A stated, "On weekends, I always drive with extra caution, anticipating a certain level of congestion." However, on that particular evening, it was dark and raining, making visibility poor. While slowly approaching the left turn, he sensed something unusual and, upon closer inspection, discovered the illegally parked vehicles blocking the lane.
The photos released by Mr. A show the three problematic vehicles parked in a row at the entrance to the left-turn lane at the intersection. This section is intended for left-turning vehicles to follow the guide lines, and bollards had even been installed at the edge of the lane to prevent vehicle entry. Nevertheless, the cars were parked right in the middle of the road, completely obstructing the turning path and making it virtually impossible for traffic to flow normally through the intersection.

The shared map image also indicates that the three vehicles were parked right in the middle of the three-way intersection where the left-turn lane meets the main road, directly blocking the entry path for turning vehicles. Mr. A expressed his frustration, saying, "I can't understand what goes through someone's mind to park like this and just leave. It wasn't just one or two cars-three vehicles were blocking the road." At the time, bus service was already delayed due to traffic congestion, but Mr. A decided he could not simply overlook the situation. He got off the bus, took photos of the scene, reported it through the Safety Report app, and also notified the police by calling 112.
Mr. A added, "The police officers said this is a recurring issue every weekend and that it causes them a lot of stress." He also mentioned that, as a result of this incident, hotel management promised to raise the issue with higher authorities and come up with countermeasures. Online commenters who saw the photos reacted by saying, "That's not parking, that's blocking a lane," "Cases like this should be grounds for license revocation," and "It seems like some people think anywhere they park becomes a parking lot."
