This competition required students to use generative AI to create short-form videos based on their respective majors. Many entries creatively expressed various situations that could be experienced within their fields of study or conveyed specialized knowledge in an easy and engaging way.
A total of 26 teams participated in the preliminary round, competing fiercely in planning, video production skills, and AI utilization. Among them, 8 teams advanced to the finals.
During the finals, after screening the completed short-form videos, presentations and Q&A sessions followed. Students captured attention by using AI technology to present their major subjects through storytelling or by reconstructing scenes commonly encountered in actual classes and practical training, each showcasing the unique characteristics of their field in different ways.
The judging panel, composed of professors from departments not represented in the finals and external experts, ensured fairness in the evaluation. As a result, one team won the grand prize, two teams received gold awards, two teams received silver awards, and three teams received bronze awards. The grand prize went to the 'Kim Byeonhwang Team' from the Department of Nursing. The team was highly praised for effectively and concisely depicting real-life scenarios encountered in nursing using AI video technology.
Cho Chaeyoung, Director of the Center for Teaching and Learning Development at Dong-Eui Science College, said, "I was very impressed by how students interpreted their specialized knowledge from their own perspectives and expressed it through short-form video content," adding, "We will continue to expand hands-on and creative education utilizing AI."
The Center for Teaching and Learning Development at Dong-Eui Science College is promoting educational innovation by operating AI-based education programs, competency-building initiatives, and various competitions, with plans to further accelerate the development of practical AI talent.
