Busan Regional Veterans Office to Intensively Support Vulnerable National Veterans During Winter

From December to February Next Year
Enhanced Welfare Checks and On-Site Inspections

The Busan Regional Veterans Office (Director Nam-Il Lee) is implementing the "Winter Intensive Support Plan for Vulnerable National Meritorious Persons" to ensure that vulnerable national veterans can spend a safe and warm winter during the cold season.

The Busan Regional Veterans Office has designated the period from December, when cold waves are expected, through February of next year as the "Winter Intensive Support Period for Vulnerable National Meritorious Persons." During this period, the office plans to strengthen its own welfare check services by utilizing systems such as the Veterans Safety Call, which monitors the well-being of national veterans.

In addition, the office plans to closely operate a protection system for vulnerable national veterans by working with local governments to identify and inspect households at risk of welfare crises during the winter.

During the year-end, New Year, and Lunar New Year holidays, officials will visit vulnerable national veterans, including those at risk of dying alone, to check their health and heating conditions, and provide information on various welfare services available to them.

Nam-Il Lee, Director of the Busan Regional Veterans Office, stated, "We will strengthen on-site support so that veterans and their families, who have sacrificed and dedicated themselves for the country, can spend a warm and safe winter," adding, "We will do our utmost to ensure that there are no blind spots in veterans' welfare through comprehensive care and proactive measures."
