Goseong County to Subsidize 50% of Farming Costs in 2026

This new program streamlines previously separated systems, such as fertilizers, pesticides, and horticultural soil, which farmers had to apply for individually by item. Now, farmers can conveniently select and purchase the annual agricultural supplies they need with a single application.

The integrated support program subsidizes 50% of the purchase cost to reduce the financial burden on farmers. The support limit is calculated based on the size of the farm: 210 KRW per square meter for rice paddies, 300 KRW per square meter for fields, and 600 KRW per square meter for facilities.

The eligible area ranges from a minimum of 0.1 hectares up to a maximum of 10 hectares (7 hectares for rice paddies and fields, and 3 hectares for facilities). Farmers can directly select and purchase the necessary agricultural supplies within the project’s budget limit. However, agricultural machinery, tax-free fuel, and insurance premiums are excluded from the support items.

Eligibility is limited to farmers who have actually resided in Goseong County for at least two years and have been registered as an agricultural business entity for at least two years. Only one person per household can apply. When applying, farmers can select up to four private consignment companies and freely purchase the required items.

In preparation for the full implementation in 2026, Goseong County is continuously refining the system and procedures. Additionally, detailed guidance and advance preparations are being carried out, mainly through towns and townships, to help farmers smoothly adapt to the new application process.

Applications and submissions will be accepted at the industrial teams of towns and townships from January 5 to January 30, 2026. After the recipients are confirmed, agricultural supplies can be purchased from February 23 to October 30.

A county official stated, "This integrated program focuses on simplifying the previously complicated administrative procedures to provide tangible convenience for farmers. We will continue to do our best to reduce the financial burden on farms and create a sustainable agricultural environment through stable budget support."
