Kwangju Bank Nominates Vice President Jeong Ilseon as Sole Final Candidate for Next President

On December 15, Kwangju Bank held an executive recommendation committee meeting and nominated Jeong Ilseon, Vice President of Kwangju Bank, as the final candidate for the next president of Kwangju Bank.

Vice President Jeong joined Kwangju Bank in 1995 and has built expertise in loan review and management, as well as sales, by working in departments such as sales, credit, and human resources. In 2021, he was appointed head of the Human Resources Support Department. He was promoted to Senior Vice President in 2023 and to Vice President in 2024. Within the bank, he is recognized for his comprehensive understanding of overall operations, as well as his organizational management skills and leadership.

If Vice President Jeong is appointed, he will become the third president to come from within the organization, following Song Jongwook, the 13th president, and Ko Byungil, the 14th president. Ko Byungil, the current president who had drawn attention regarding the possibility of a third consecutive term, is reported to have declined to continue.

Kwangju Bank will hold a board of directors meeting and a general shareholders' meeting on December 17 to finalize and announce the next president.
