First Achievement of Its Kind in North Gyeongsang Province
Cheongdo County (Governor Kim Hasu) recently achieved a distinguished accomplishment at the “2025 Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Data Analysis Specialist Certification Ceremony,” jointly hosted by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety and the National Information Society Agency (NIA).
On December 15, Cheongdo County announced that it had become the first county-level local government nationwide, as well as the first in North Gyeongsang Province, to be certified as a “Leading Institution for AI and Data Analysis Specialist Training.”
This certification is awarded to institutions that have successfully operated specialist training programs and established data-driven administrative systems, as part of the Ministry of the Interior and Safety’s efforts to strengthen AI and data utilization capabilities in the public sector. The most recent certification was conferred on December 10.
Cheongdo County was selected as one of 20 leading institutions nationwide and received a certification plaque, earning external recognition for its capabilities in data-driven administrative innovation.
From May to September, Cheongdo County sent public officials to participate in the “AI and Data Analysis Specialist Training Program” organized by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety. Over approximately four months, they completed advanced training on AI technology trends, generative AI applications, prompt engineering, data analysis, and AI modeling. As a result, the county has secured a pool of specialists equipped with AI and data analysis skills that can be immediately applied to administrative work.
Building on this certification as a leading institution, Cheongdo County plans to accelerate administrative innovation using AI and data.
In particular, the county aims to implement data analysis projects to improve public services closely related to residents’ daily lives and to address local issues, positioning itself as a leading local government in the era of digital transformation.
Governor Kim Hasu stated, “This certification as a leading institution is a meaningful achievement that officially recognizes Cheongdo County’s capabilities in administrative innovation through AI and data. We will continue to nurture specialists and do our utmost to further enhance the quality of life for our residents through AI- and data-driven administration.”
