This study systematically identified the key factors influencing performance improvement by analyzing the Olympic preparation process of national Taekwondo sparring athletes who participated in the Paris Olympics.
Kim Taehun, a doctoral candidate scheduled to receive his PhD from Dong-A University in February next year, said, "This award is thanks to the generous guidance and encouragement from my professors during my time in graduate school," and added, "Based on the knowledge and experience gained through this research, I will continue to pursue academic growth in the future."
In addition, the research team led by Professor Lee Sangho (doctoral candidates Kwon Jongyun, Park Taehyung, and Kim Seondong) received the Excellent Paper Award at the "2025 International Conference of the Korean Society of Convergence Science" for their paper titled "Effects of General Massage and Isometric Exercise-Applied Massage after Short-Term High-Intensity Exercise on Stress Hormones and Fatigue Substances in Middle-Aged Women."
This study analyzed the effects of fatigue recovery in middle-aged women and suggested that combining massage or cool-down exercises is more effective for stress and fatigue recovery than simple rest.
The Korean Society of Convergence Science, established in 2012, publishes academic journals 12 times a year and selects outstanding papers with academic originality in various fields such as convergence humanities and social sciences, convergence natural sciences, and convergence engineering. The Dong-A University research team was honored to receive an award in the field of convergence humanities and social sciences this time.
Kwon Jongyun, a doctoral candidate, said, "Thanks to the guidance of my advising professor and the support from my lab members throughout the entire research process, we were able to achieve meaningful results," and added, "With this award as motivation, I will continue to learn with humility and pursue in-depth research."
