Students from Keimyung University achieved outstanding results at the 56th Gyeongsangbuk-do Industrial Design Exhibition, with a total of 15 students winning awards, including the Gold Prize. This once again demonstrated the university's top-tier competitiveness in industrial design nationwide.

In addition to the Gold Prize, Keimyung University also swept the Silver and Bronze Prizes at this exhibition, showcasing well-rounded capabilities across the competition categories.

The Gyeongsangbuk-do Industrial Design Exhibition is a nationwide contest with a 56-year history and tradition. It has greatly contributed to expanding the base of industrial design and discovering outstanding creative talents, establishing itself as one of the most important gateways in Korea's design industry.

"Keimyung University Design Shines Again!" 15 Students Win Major Prizes Including Gold at Industrial Design Exhibition Students from the Department of Industrial Design at Keimyung University won awards at the 56th Gyeongsangbuk-do Industrial Design Exhibition, with 15 recipients including gold, silver, and bronze prizes. This year’s exhibition was a national design competition, with a total of 247 entries submitted across three categories: visual design, craft design, and product/environmental design.

The awards ceremony was held on December 12 in the exhibition hall on the third floor of Saemaul Theme Park in Gumi City.

Kim Minseo, a fourth-year student in the Department of Industrial Design at Keimyung University, won the Gold Prize with her work "Scent Me."

The Silver Prize went to Lee Haerin (4th year) for "POE-Inflatable Arch Slippers," while the Bronze Prize was awarded to Park Jihyun (4th year) for "Guardian." Keimyung University students swept the major prizes from Gold to Bronze.

The Encouragement Prize was awarded to Yong Yejin for her "Modular Diffuser," and three students-Kim Daye ("APLOW" hair dryer for children), Park Gyunwoo ("Maengho-I"), and Ko Mingyun ("PORTA" modular delivery drone)-were selected for the Special Prize.

For the Commendation Prize, eight students-Kim Minji, Yong Yejin, Park Jihyun, Kim Youngrok, Kim Gaeun, Kim Bomin, Lim Kangtaek, and Lee Haerin-were recognized, demonstrating the creativity and practical skills of Keimyung University's Department of Industrial Design.

The Gold Prize-winning work "Scent Me" is a communication device that allows a pet owner to collect scent information while outside and deliver it to their dog at home, enabling them to share experiences even when apart.

The device was recognized for its originality and practicality, as it enhances the emotional stability and daily satisfaction of companion animals.

Kim Minseo stated, "This project is meaningful because it explores a new way for pet owners and their dogs to feel connected and share emotional experiences. I believe applying the professor's advice and real user experiences to the design contributed to the positive evaluation."

Kim Yunhee, Dean of the College of Fine Arts at Keimyung University, said, "I hope that, through this achievement, our students will propose ideas that provide practical help to the region and society. We will continue to focus on nurturing talents who grow together with the local community."

Meanwhile, the Department of Industrial Design at Keimyung University continues to produce global design talents, consistently achieving results in world-renowned design competitions such as the Red Dot Design Award, iF Concept Award, Spark Design Award, and IDEA, based on a curriculum that harmonizes practical and theoretical education.
