Pukyong National University Busan Green Environment Support Center Holds Capacity-Building Program on Water Quality and Marine Environment

For the Marine Environment Activity Group and Haeundae Residents

The National Pukyong National University Busan Green Environment Support Center (headed by Lee Taeyoon) conducted specialized training on water quality and the marine environment for the Marine Environment Activity Group and residents of Haeundae.

The center announced on the 15th that it held the "Second Capacity-Building Program for the Marine Environment Activity Group" at the Haeundae General Social Welfare Center on the 5th, where it implemented a specialized educational program on water quality and the marine environment.

This program, following the first session held in September, was organized to address the needs of the Busan region regarding river water pollution. It focused on the impact of changes in urban river water quality on the coastal marine ecosystem.

On this day, members of the mobile environmental education activity group and residents of the Haeundae area in Busan attended the event. Professor Nam Yoonkyung from the Environmental Education Center at Pusan National University delivered lectures on topics such as the Earth system and the water cycle, ecological water purification systems, and artificial water purification systems.

Participants in this program expressed high satisfaction with the training and reportedly indicated their intention to participate in the next educational program offered by the Busan Green Environment Support Center.

Lee Taeyoon, Director of the Center (Dean of Environment and Ocean College at National Pukyong National University), emphasized, "I expect that this training will serve as an opportunity to enhance the community's practical capabilities for improving water quality and preserving the marine environment in Haeundae, a representative marine city where rivers, coastal areas, and beaches are interconnected."
