Jang Yechan Appointed Vice President of Yeouido Institute for People Power Party: "Will Uphold the Intentions of Jang Donghyuk's Leadership"

Kim Minsu Appointed as Chairman of the Special Committee on Public Communication
Pro-Yoon Figures Take the Lead... Supporting the Leadership of Jang Donghyuk

Jang Yechan, former Youth Supreme Council Member of the People Power Party and a figure considered close to President Yoon Suk-yeol, has been appointed as Vice President of the Yeouido Institute, the party's think tank. Additionally, Supreme Council Member Kim Minsu has been appointed as Chairman of the Special Committee on Public Communication.

According to the People Power Party on December 15, the Yeouido Institute held a board meeting on this day and appointed former Supreme Council Member Jang as Vice President.

On his social media account, Jang stated, "At the Yeouido Institute, where top experts are gathered, I will serve as a communication channel to kindly inform the public and party members about our work and how the party is striving for victory in the local elections."

He continued, "As a party official, I will do whatever it takes to uphold the intentions of the leadership and party members led by Jang Donghyuk. It has long been a chronic problem in the People Power Party that lawmakers with little presence only become active when trying to shake up the leadership or secure nomination privileges. I will be a party official who firmly defends the fact that the true owners of the People Power Party are not a handful of lawmakers, but our party members."

Jang has been at odds with the pro-Han Donghoon faction, such as by calling for an investigation into allegations related to the party member bulletin board targeting former party leader Han Donghoon. He is regarded as a hardline pro-Yoon figure who has opposed calls within the party for an apology regarding the emergency martial law issue.

On the same day, the People Power Party also appointed Supreme Council Member Kim Minsu as Chairman of the Special Committee on Public Communication at the Supreme Council meeting.

Park Sunghoon, the party's chief spokesperson, told reporters, "The main focus of the Special Committee on Public Communication will be social service activities. The committee will visit regions that are difficult for the party to reach, engage in volunteer work, and help convey the values the party aims to uphold."
