Jindo County in South Jeolla Province has demonstrated the success of its green space policies by receiving the highest grade in the tree planting evaluation organized by South Jeolla Province.

On December 15, the county announced that it had been awarded the grand prize in the "2025 South Jeolla Province Tree Planting Evaluation" conducted by the provincial government.

This evaluation comprehensively reviewed the entire tree planting project process across 22 cities and counties in South Jeolla Province, including performance in tree planting, promotional activities, discovery of new initiatives, and budget utilization.

Jindo County received high marks for systematically promoting projects to create green spaces in residential areas, led by the Park Management Office. Notably, the county achieved significant results by winning awards for three consecutive years: the Excellence Award in 2023, the Top Excellence Award in 2024, and the Grand Prize in 2025, with its evaluation grade rising each year.

In addition, the county recorded the highest level of tree planting among counties in 2025. It has focused on expanding flower paths and tree-lined streets in residential areas, as well as creating green spaces that enhance village landscapes. Alongside these efforts, the county has also promoted flower path cultivation projects with direct participation from residents, creating a green environment that citizens can experience in their daily lives.

Kim Heesu, Governor of Jindo County, stated, "This award is a valuable result created together by our staff, who have worked diligently in the field, and the residents who actively participated. We will continue to expand green living environments where people can walk, rest, and stay, and we will cherish and nurture even the smallest spaces."
