Gochang County Re-Designates 33 Exemplary Restaurants to Improve Dining Environment

Gochang County in North Jeolla Province has re-designated 33 exemplary restaurants to improve the local food culture and create a hygienic dining environment.

According to the county on December 15, a customer service training session was held at the designation ceremony to foster the perception among customers that these are "places they would want to visit again."

In addition, in cooperation with the Gochang Police Station, the county provided information on recent no-show scams and voice phishing crime cases to help prevent such crimes.

This year, restaurants previously designated as exemplary were evaluated from November 26 to 28 on criteria such as hygiene conditions, facility standards, and service quality.

Restaurants with excellent hygiene and those that met the evaluation criteria were finally selected through a review by the Gochang County Food Culture Improvement Committee. The list of selected establishments can be found on the Gochang County website.

The final exemplary restaurants will receive benefits such as the issuance of an exemplary restaurant certificate, discounts on water and sewage fees, provision of hygiene supplies, and exemption from on-site inspections during the designation period.

The Gochang County Governor stated, "The role of exemplary restaurants is crucial in strengthening the competitiveness of our local food culture. I hope these establishments will become even more hygienic and considerate so that both residents and visitors to Gochang County can use them with peace of mind."
