GS Engineering & Construction announced on December 15 that it held a 'Safety Partnership Workshop' at an apartment construction site in Gwangmyeong, Gyeonggi Province, with the participation of over 100 employees, partner company managers, and workers.
The purpose of this workshop was to directly listen to the opinions of workers performing tasks on-site and to find safety improvement measures that harmonize the headquarters' safety management policies with on-site experiences. The event was attended not only by staff from the headquarters' safety management department but also by partner company managers and on-site workers from various trades, who shared ideas from multiple perspectives, including risk factor analysis, safety equipment improvements, and optimization of the work environment.
Prior to the event, GS Engineering & Construction met with partner company managers and workers to hear about the difficulties faced on-site and ideas for improvement. During the workshop, participants freely discussed possible improvements in groups, based on the feedback gathered. Safety experiences such as cardiopulmonary resuscitation and fire extinguisher training were also conducted.
Various ideas were suggested, including the introduction of a focused management system for tasks with falling hazards during late work hours when workers' concentration tends to decrease. Going forward, GS Engineering & Construction plans to apply the ideas generated through collaboration between headquarters and the field to actual operations.
A GS Engineering & Construction representative stated, "Our top priority is to listen to the voices from the field and create an environment where everyone working on-site can work safely," adding, "We will continue to make efforts to implement the proposed ideas in actual field operations."
