Yang Jonghee, Chairman of KB Financial Group, stated, "We will strengthen customized financial support optimized for each stage of growth so that outstanding startups do not have to stop challenging themselves due to a lack of funds."

According to KB Financial Group on December 15, Chairman Yang made these remarks at the '2025 HUB Day' held on December 12 at the KB Kookmin Bank New Building in Yeongdeungpo-gu, Seoul, emphasizing, "We will reinforce the role of productive finance."

Chairman Yang further stressed, "By expanding financial support at the group level, we will provide the necessary funds at the right time for each stage of a company's growth, and create an environment where startups can fully focus on their core business and technology development."

'2025 HUB Day' is a startup demo day organized to strengthen collaboration and support with companies participating in 'KB Starters.' KB Financial Group supports startups in attracting investment by connecting them with government incubation and investment agencies, startup support organizations, venture capital firms (VCs), and accelerators (ACs).

In March 2015, KB Financial Group established the 'KB Innovation HUB Center,' the first fintech lab in the financial sector, to expand funding to a creative and innovative startup ecosystem and reinforce its core role of supporting the growth of early-stage startups. To date, a total of 394 early-stage companies have been selected and nurtured as KB Starters. The group has achieved cumulative investments of 304.4 billion won and 422 partnerships. Starting this year, KB Financial Group has unified the 'Futurenine' program of KB Kookmin Card with 'KB Starters' to streamline the discovery and nurturing of startups at the group level.

The event was attended by Chairman Yang, Lee Changkwon, Head of Digital and IT Division, Lee Jaegun, Head of Global Business Division, Yoon Beomryeol, CEO of KB Investment, representatives of companies participating in KB Starters, and about 200 officials from related organizations, who discussed ways to achieve mutual growth with innovative technology companies.

During the results presentation session, concrete examples of innovation jointly developed by major KB Financial Group affiliates and KB Starters were introduced. These included: an artificial intelligence (AI)-based counseling speech analysis solution (KB Insurance and Credilab), automated insurance contract underwriting based on medical data (KB Life Insurance and ToBeCon), and the development of an integrated automotive platform tailored for overseas markets (KB Kookmin Card and Cheka). These presentations highlighted the role of financial companies as testbeds for startups and served as practical examples of productive finance supporting innovative growth.
