Uijeongbu Eulji University Hospital announced on December 15 that Professor Moon Intae of the Department of Cardiology has received a commendation from the Minister of Health and Welfare at the 32nd National Conference of Regional and Local Cardiovascular and Cerebrovascular Disease Centers, which was held recently.
Professor Moon was recognized for his dedication to treating patients with severe cardiovascular diseases, such as acute myocardial infarction and acute aortic syndrome, since the opening of Uijeongbu Eulji University Hospital in 2021.
In particular, he has been highly regarded for his role as the lead specialist responsible for the cardiovascular and cerebrovascular disease human network covering northern Gyeonggi Province and the Gangwon region. He established a real-time communication system with local medical institutions, which improved the accuracy of initial diagnoses and supported the rapid transfer of patients requiring emergency procedures.
Based on these achievements, Uijeongbu Eulji University Hospital received a perfect score of 100 in the 2024 evaluation of the cardiovascular and cerebrovascular disease human network pilot project conducted by the Ministry of Health and Welfare.
Additionally, it is the only hospital in northeastern Gyeonggi Province designated as a regional cardiovascular and cerebrovascular disease center by the Ministry of Health and Welfare, leading efforts to strengthen the treatment system for such diseases by providing 24-hour acute patient care in the region.
Professor Moon stated, "This award is the result of the combined efforts of the emergency room medical staff at local hospitals responsible for the initial treatment of cardiovascular diseases and all the medical staff at Uijeongbu Eulji University Hospital who provide definitive treatment. Since early intervention and differential diagnosis are crucial for patients, I will continue to do my best to ensure that patients receive optimal treatment in a timely manner through a collaborative network among medical institutions."
