The Chungnam Research Institute will release its research achievements, which encapsulate the core policy directions of the 8th popularly elected Chungnam Provincial Government, including responses to regional extinction, carbon neutrality, and strategies for future new industries.

The institute announced on the 15th that it will hold the "2025 Research Achievements Presentation" at its main office in Gongju on the 23rd, sharing the research results accumulated over the past year with the province, cities, counties, and residents of Chungnam.

This presentation is designed to systematically organize the institute's major research projects conducted this year and to propose practical policy alternatives that can be utilized by policy stakeholders, including the provincial and municipal governments as well as local residents.

The presentation topics will broadly cover key challenges facing Chungnam Province, including regional extinction, carbon neutrality and climate crisis, regional industries and rural areas, population and settlement, higher education and science and technology, future new industries, and social overhead capital (SOC).

The event will feature a total of 13 sessions, with presentations and discussions on 41 research projects.

Session A will include four panels: Regional Industry I, Rural Communities and Welfare, Settlement Environment, and Population Policy I.

Session B will focus on the fields of Culture and Tourism, Population Policy II, Environment I, and Regional Development, while Session C will present five panels: Environment II, Response to Regional Extinction, Regional Industry II, Science and Technology, and Higher Education.

Director Jun Heekyung stated, "The Research Achievements Presentation is an opportunity for the Chungnam Research Institute to share the research outcomes accumulated over the past year with the province, cities, counties, and residents. It also serves as a starting point for envisioning the 2026 provincial agenda and future strategies. Going forward, we will continue to fulfill our role as a policy platform by precisely identifying policy demands that match the realities and expectations of the field and local residents, and by proposing feasible alternatives."

Meanwhile, the event will also comprehensively present next year's research agendas and the institute's medium- and long-term research directions, in addition to this year's major research achievements.
