Gangwon Province Proves Its “Top-Level” Architectural Administration Capabilities
in Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport Evaluation of Metropolitan Governments
Gangwon Special Self-Governing Province announced on December 15 that it has been selected as the top institution in the “2025 Local Government Architectural Administration Evaluation” organized by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, ranking first overall.
The Local Government Architectural Administration Evaluation is a system that comprehensively assesses the performance of 243 local governments nationwide (17 metropolitan and 226 basic local governments) over the past year, based on 28 detailed indicators in five areas: rationality of architectural administration procedures, building safety, adequacy of building maintenance, efforts to improve architectural administration, and more.
The province achieved excellent results across all evaluation areas. In particular, it received high marks for expediting administrative procedures, such as shortening the pre-approval process for large-scale buildings by the governor, as well as for its performance in promoting green remodeling projects for aging public buildings. Following its second-place finish last year, the province has now taken first place, once again demonstrating its advanced capabilities in architectural administration.
