Healing Wounded Adolescents:
Dongmyung University Students' "Sincere" Program
A project that directly addressed the daily lives and emotions of adolescents has come to fruition.
Students from the Department of Counseling and Clinical Psychology at Dongmyung University (headed by Professor Kim Minjeong) recently received the Excellence Award at a youth activity program idea contest, recognized for their creativity and practicality.
This contest was organized to discover creative programs that support the healthy growth and emotional well-being of local adolescents.
The team that received the Excellence Award consisted of fourth-year students Lee Junghae, Choi Hyukrim, Choi Yeonwoo, and Ahn Junwoo from the Department of Counseling and Clinical Psychology. They received high praise for proposing an educational wildfire response experience program for families.
The program is designed for lower elementary school students and their families to simulate wildfire situations together, allowing them to learn basic safety response skills such as using fire extinguishers, practicing evacuation scenarios, and preparing for disasters.
Team leader Lee Junghae commented, "It was not easy to put our major knowledge into a concrete program, but it is even more meaningful because it is the result of collaboration with my teammates. I would like to continue planning various programs to support adolescent emotional well-being in the future."

The Department of Counseling and Clinical Psychology at Dongmyung University actively encourages field training and program development in collaboration with the local community. This latest award is seen as further proof of the students' practical capabilities and the excellence of the department's educational program.
