This event was organized to provide comfort and encouragement to small business owners, workers, and freelancers who are facing difficulties due to the recent sluggish domestic demand and rising prices, by offering them warm coffee and snacks.
On-site, consultation booths for the Durunuri Social Insurance Premium Support Program and the 'Blue Seed' retirement pension for small and medium-sized enterprises were operated, making it easy for visitors to receive necessary information and to sign up immediately if desired.
The Durunuri Social Insurance Premium Support Program provides 80% of employment insurance and national pension premiums for employees earning an average monthly wage of less than 2.7 million won at workplaces with fewer than 10 employees.
This year alone, insurance premiums have been supported for 480,000 workplaces and 1.6 million workers, offering practical help to small businesses and workers who had hesitated to enroll due to the burden of premiums, and is recognized for significantly contributing to closing the gap in social insurance coverage.
'Blue Seed' is the only fund-type retirement pension program in Korea directly operated by the Korea Workers' Compensation and Welfare Service, targeting employees of small and medium-sized enterprises with 30 or fewer employees.
As of October of this year, the third year since the program's introduction, it has shown rapid growth with 30,000 workplaces and 140,000 employees enrolled, and accumulated reserves exceeding 1.3 trillion won, establishing itself as a reliable retirement partner for SME employees.
Paek Jonggil, Chairman of the Korea Workers' Compensation and Welfare Service, visited the event and said, "We organized this event to sincerely comfort and encourage the small business owners and workers who have worked diligently throughout the year," adding, "Going forward, the Service will do its utmost to close the gaps in employment and industrial accident insurance and to strengthen the guarantee of retirement income for workers, so that we can build a labor-respecting society where everyone can work happily."
