The 'Global Design It Award,' hosted by the Korea Design Industry Association, is a prestigious award that has been recognizing outstanding design projects by numerous designers, companies, and local governments in Korea since 2011. The awards are determined through a rigorous evaluation by leading experts in the design industry, comprehensively assessing creativity, practicality, and social contribution.

The 'Mindungsan Branding Project,' which received both the grand prize and the special award this year, was highly praised for its modern reinterpretation of the identity of Mindungsan, which is renowned nationwide for its vast silver grass fields.

The project developed 'Terrarosa,' the unique reddish earth color of Mindungsan, as its core color and consistently applied it to various tourism touchpoints such as signboards, merchandise, and promotional materials. In particular, by avoiding artificial structures and focusing on designs that harmonize with the natural landscape, the project left a strong impression on visitors and was commended for effectively conveying the image of Jeongseon as a desirable destination.

With this award, Jeongseon County plans to further develop Mindungsan into a hub for tourism that features both design and storytelling, going beyond its reputation as a simple natural attraction.

Shin Wonseon, head of the Tourism Division, stated, "Winning both the grand prize and the special award is a valuable achievement that combines Jeongseon's outstanding natural resources with excellent design competitiveness. We will continue to enhance Jeongseon's brand value globally through public design that highlights the region's unique characteristics."
