Dongmyung University Visual Design Department Rises as the Leading Force in Busan Art Exhibition Design Category

Multiple Award Winners Including Two Excellence Awards
Achieving Top Honors for Three Consecutive Years

The Visual Design Department at Dongmyung University has emerged as a 'game changer' in the local design industry by winning numerous awards, including two Excellence Awards, as well as Special and Honorable Mentions, in the design category of the Busan Art Exhibition.

At the recently held 2025 Busan Art Exhibition, Kim Hyerim and Hwang Yebin, both seniors in the Visual Design Department at Dongmyung University, each received the highest honor, the Excellence Award.


In addition, three students received Special Mentions and ten students received Honorable Mentions, achieving overwhelming results among all participating departments.


With these achievements, the Visual Design Department at Dongmyung University has continued its record of receiving the highest awards in the design category of the Busan Art Exhibition for three consecutive years, following one Grand Prize and one Excellence Award in 2023, two Excellence Awards in 2024, and two Excellence Awards again in 2025.


The award-winning students said, "Our professors continuously communicated with us to ensure we fully understood the direction and intent of each assignment, and provided close feedback on every piece, which allowed us to achieve such great results."


Jung Wonjun, Head of the Visual Design Department at Dongmyung University, stated, "I am extremely proud and grateful to my students for elevating the reputation of our university and department by winning the highest and most awards in the design category at the Busan Art Exhibition for three consecutive years. We will continue to nurture competitive talent through practical education and by strengthening creative design capabilities."


This year, a total of 1,483 works were submitted across 12 categories, including Korean painting and Western painting, at the Busan Art Exhibition. After the first and second rounds of judging, a total of 806 works, including the Grand Prize, were selected as winning entries.
