On the morning of December 13, the National Fire Agency announced that it held a situation assessment meeting at the site of the collapse accident at the Representative Library in Chipyeong-dong, Gwangju, presided over by Acting Commissioner Kim Seungryong. The agency decided to make every effort in the search and rescue operation for the last remaining missing person at the site.
The National Fire Agency is continuing the search by deploying all available firefighting resources. With site stabilization work now complete, five pieces of heavy equipment, including cranes and excavators, have been mobilized to accelerate debris removal.
Additionally, urban search equipment such as thermal imaging cameras, drones, and power cutters are being used in parallel to support the search and rescue operations.

Acting Commissioner Kim stated, "Since we found the third buried person early this morning, we will now focus all our capabilities on locating the last individual. While prioritizing the safety of our rescue personnel, we will also do our utmost until the end, keeping in mind the feelings of the families who are waiting."
