On December 13, Gwangju University announced that, as part of the University Innovation Support Project, it had invited Lee Yongseop, former mayor of Gwangju and advisor at Yulchon LLC, to conduct a special lecture for the Liberal Arts course "Open Life Theory."
The special lecture, held on December 11 in the small auditorium on the third floor of Hosim Hall on campus, was conducted under the theme "In the Age of AI, Innovate Your Habits to Succeed!"
Lee Yongseop, former mayor of Gwangju, cited figures such as Margaret Thatcher and Bill Gates, introducing to students that the common trait among successful people is not genius, but rather their constant effort to develop "good habits."
He went on to emphasize the importance of having the habit of dreaming (vision) with a strong sense of determination, making innovation (action) a habit to turn dreams into reality, and creating miracles by being grateful (character) for pain and adversity.
Lee Yongseop advised Gwangju University students to "make a habit of dreaming, innovating, and being grateful in your daily lives."
Meanwhile, the "Open Life Theory" course is a liberal arts subject designed to strengthen creative convergence capabilities required in the era of entrepreneurship and the Fourth Industrial Revolution by inviting experts from various fields to provide knowledge in politics, economics, culture and arts, startups, and more, as well as to offer opportunities for interdisciplinary career exploration.
