Sending a "Pear Gift Set" to the Innovation Party
The main opposition party, the People Power Party, and the pro-government Innovation Party exchanged pointed messages through gift sets of apples and pears, engaging in a war of nerves.
On December 12, the People Power Party Secretariat Labor Union sent a "pear gift set" to the Innovation Party.

This was in response to the Innovation Party sending an apple gift set on December 9, along with a card that read, "Apologize for rebellion, sever ties with the far right! We expect courage." At the time, the People Power Party returned the apples.
In a press release that day, the People Power Party Secretariat Labor Union commented on the pear gift set, stating, "We hope the Innovation Party will handle chronic issues related to the party-such as admissions corruption, hypocrisy, and sexual misconduct-at 'double the speed' and resolve them properly."
In response, the Innovation Party said regarding the returned apples and pear gift sets, "We used them to pray for the repose of the 'unconstitutional People Power Party,'" adding, "We will continue our efforts to fully realize the people's will for a complete settlement of the rebellion."
