Concerns Over Rust in "Air Mom Formula Pot," Voluntary Free Repairs Implemented

Voluntary free repairs will be implemented for the "Air Mom Formula Pot," which has raised concerns about potential rusting in some parts, starting from December 15, 2025.

The Korea Consumer Agency announced on December 14, 2025, that it had recommended corrective action to the domestic importer, Daewoo Appliance, which is now carrying out these measures. The product, an electrical appliance (other liquid heating device) used for preparing formula and similar items, has received safety certification under the Electrical Appliances and Consumer Products Safety Control Act to prevent hazards such as fire and electric shock. However, investigations, including analysis of hazard information reported to the Consumer Injury Surveillance System (CISS), confirmed that there is a possibility of rust developing in certain components.

The Korea Consumer Agency immediately recommended corrective action to the domestic importer. The importer responded that it would voluntarily provide free repairs (component replacement) with improved parts for a total of 4,120 units, including products sold between October 2024 and June 2025 and those held in import inventory.

Accordingly, consumers who own the affected product are advised to stop using it and contact Daewoo Appliance either by phone or through the official website to receive prompt service.

The Korea Consumer Agency stated that it will continue to monitor the product after the free repairs to check for any additional rusting or other safety concerns.
