Gyeonggi-do Fire Academy Holds Briefing on Achievements in Digital Transformation of Firefighter Education and Training on the 11th

On December 11, the Gyeonggi-do Fire Academy held a briefing session to share the achievements of establishing the 'Cloud-Native Fire Education and Training Management System (FeIS, pronounced "Pice")', which has led the digital transformation of firefighter education and training. The event also covered plans for further advancement and the Ministry of the Interior and Safety's rapid function improvement project.

This project marks the first time a national fire academy has expanded its system through a cloud-native project funded by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety, focusing on speed, scalability, and stability.

The briefing session proceeded in the following order: ▲Strengthening integrated history and competency development functions ▲Developing education and training services for volunteer firefighters and the private sector ▲Plans for cloud resource operation and management.

Through this project, the Gyeonggi-do Fire Academy aims to immediately address field demands via the Ministry of the Interior and Safety's rapid function improvement project, and to expand the system to the Central and Chungcheong Fire Academies, ultimately developing it into a nationwide standard platform.

Additionally, the system will be opened to volunteer firefighters and private education services, enhancing access to educational information and reinforcing the community safety network.

This system integrates three services-education management (feis.gg.go.kr), cyber education (119edu.gg.go.kr), and fire analysis (fas.gg.go.kr)-and operates them within the public-private partnership cloud environment at the Daegu Center of the National Information Resources Service under the Ministry of the Interior and Safety. After a pilot operation, the official launch is scheduled for January next year.

Kim Jaehong, head of the Gyeonggi-do Fire Academy, stated, "Establishing a cloud-native environment is a milestone that transforms the paradigm of fire education. We will be the first to listen to even the smallest inconveniences in the field and create an educational ecosystem where individuals and teams can grow. We will repay the public with better fire safety content."
