"Korea 4-H Members Advancement Conference" Held in Andong

Commitment to Nurturing Future Leaders in Agriculture
Reaffirming the Values of 4-H Across Generations

The "Korea 4-H Members Advancement Conference" was held in Andong City, providing a meaningful opportunity to nurture future leaders in agriculture and to re-examine the fundamental values of the 4-H movement.

This advancement conference began with cultural and artistic performances and was organized around the themes of empathy, communication, and unity.


Participants shared experiences and visions across generations, once again reflecting on the educational and social values embodied by the 4-H movement.


During the event, Lee Jaegap, a member of the Andong City Council, delivered a special lecture on "The Past, Present, and Future of 4-H," outlining the history, changes, and future direction of the 4-H movement.


Assemblyman Lee emphasized, "The 4-H movement has been a cradle for nurturing agricultural talent, continuing a spirit of challenge and innovation under the motto 'To Make the Best Better, Learn by Doing.'"


On this day, scholarships were awarded to 10 students from Andong Life Science High School, and plaques of appreciation were presented to former presidents who have dedicated themselves to 4-H activities, honoring the contributions of senior 4-H members.


In his congratulatory remarks, Andong Mayor Kwon Kichang stated, "4-H has been a key driving force in sustaining local agriculture and rural communities based on the ideals of Head, Heart, Hands, and Health," adding, "Andong City will spare no effort in supporting the development of young farmers and future talent."


Kim Kyungdo, Chairman of the Andong City Council, also remarked, "The 4-H movement is both the root and the future of local agriculture," and pledged, "The council will continue to provide institutional support to ensure the stable growth of young farmers and 4-H activities."


Park Jeongsuk, President of the Andong City 4-H Headquarters, said, "We will carry on the spirit of Head, Heart, Hands, and Health, practiced by our senior 4-H members, and devote ourselves to fostering young farmers who will lead the future of agriculture and rural communities," adding, "The Andong City 4-H Headquarters will work together to create a 4-H movement led by its members."


This advancement conference concluded as a platform to reflect on the historical significance of the 4-H movement and to share a commitment to the sustainable development of future agriculture and the local community.
