Recognized for Supporting the Growth of Local Small Businesses
The Kyung Hee University Industry-Academic Cooperation Foundation announced on December 15 that it received the Education Grand Prize in the Supporting Organization category at the '2025 Small Business Capacity Building Project Best Practice' awards, hosted by the Ministry of SMEs and Startups and the Small Enterprise and Market Service.

Gyeongan Night Walk is a case in which local small business owners in Haenggung-dong, Suwon, collaborated with a university to develop new integrated cultural content.
This program is a comprehensive content initiative staged in the previously unused courtyard of 'Gyeongandang,' a traditional Korean house cafe located in Haenggung-dong. It offers visitors an experience that includes an original soundtrack inspired by the poetic sentiment of Suwon Hwaseong, as well as a specially curated dessert course and service design tailored to the music.
The program was developed through the collaboration of students from Kyung Hee University's College of Art & Design and College of Hotel & Tourism Management, along with mentoring from local management companies, spatial design firms, the Suwon City Urban Design Team, external experts, and faculty advisors.
The students planned and operated the performances, desserts, and spaces as a unified theme, and designed customer experience content linked to the original soundtrack 'Longing Love (Yeon)'.
Park Sanghee, head of the Kyung Hee University Local Content-Focused University Project Group, stated, "This case demonstrates that university convergence education can create real value for small business owners and local communities."
