A collapse occurred during construction work at the Gwangju Seo-gu Main Library, and it is estimated that four workers have been buried.
According to the National Fire Agency, a report of the collapse at the construction site was received at 1:58 p.m. on December 11. Fire authorities arrived at the scene within six minutes.
The collapse happened while ready-mixed concrete was being poured, causing the construction structure to fall and bury the workers. So far, it is estimated that four people are trapped.
Fire authorities have deployed 26 personnel and 17 pieces of equipment to carry out the rescue operation.
